Hi, I'm Yael

I am a computer science PhD candidate at Tel Aviv University, advised by Prof. Daniel Cohen-Or and Prof. Ariel Shamir. I am currently also a student researcher at Google Research, in the Creative Camera team.

I live in Tel Aviv, and married to Assaf. I am interested in arts, and in my free time I like to draw and sculpt.

My research lies at the intersection of computer science and art, with a focus on generative models and their capacity to produce non-photorealistic content.
I have received two Best Paper Awards for my works "CLIPasso" (SIGGRAPH 2022) and "Concept Decomposition for Visual Exploration and Inspiration" (SIGGRAPH Asia 2023) and an Honorable Mention Best Paper Award for "Word-as-Image" (SIGGRAPH 2023).

I teach the "Deep Neural Networks for Computer Graphics" course at Tel Aviv University (which I also designed from scratch). The course covers the evolution of generative models from CNNs to diffusion models.

Before joining Tel Aviv University, I interned at EPFL, collaborating with Prof. Amir Zamir. Prior to that, I was an intern at Disney Research in Zurich. I recieved my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. During my B.Sc. in computer science I also studied visual communication at Bezalel Academy.
